The Alumni Association is a symbol of our respect and allegiance to the Alma mater, The College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET). The traditions and standards set by the institution have shaped our lives and have brought us together in this fraternity, beyond the bounds of religion, cast or creed. It continues to help in the development of our personality. The alumni of the institution have traveled to all corners of the world, some reaching the pinnacles of the profession or public life and here we are making an effort to trace the history of those who landed up in Kuwait.
Pre Invasion
College of Engineering Trivandrum Alumni Association (CETAA), Kuwait Chapter, came into existence on December 30,1980. Nearly 20 people under the leadership of Mr. Thomas Purackal, gathered together at the beautiful Green Belt Park, Sharq, to inaugurate the Kuwait Chapter of CETAA. This became an annual event in the following years. However, in 1983, due to the increase in number of members and families the venue of get together had to be shifted to the Family Beach, at Messilah. During this function, Mr. K. T. Thomas was elected as the Gen. Secretary to conduct the future activities of CETAA, Kuwait.
In the subsequent years, CETAA, became active conducting picnics, childrenÂ’s competitions and cultural activities for its members and families. In 1989, with the formation of Kuwait Engineers Forum, an organization of Malayalee engineers in Kuwait, CETAA, as one of the founder members of the Organization, took an active part in the Onam celebration. CETAA was highly privileged to have the KEF-Onam Function inaugurated by the wife of the senior most Malayalee engineer in Kuwait, Mr. Nair, a 1948 graduate and an alumnus of our association.
